Patricia Elaine Purcell McNeil was born July 21, 1959, in Pinehurst, NC to the late Sarah Margaret Purcell and Preston Allen Frye. Patricia better known as “Elaine” or “Big Red” grew up in Carthage, NC where she graduated from Union Pines High School. Elaine also attended Sandhills Community College where she later became a nurse and healthcare provider. Elaine was a wonder woman of many occupations in the Healthcare profession until her health started to decline. However, even then she did not allow that to stop her from caring for others. Over the years she has taken in so many by giving them a place of shelter and/or even a hot meal. Elaine has exceeded the term heavenly sent in so many ways by having such a big caring heart. Patricia departed this life on July 10, 2020, in Fayetteville, NC at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.
Elaine was preceded in death by her grandparents David and Evelyn Purcell. One Uncle; Bobbi Lee Purcell. Two Aunts; Sylvia Percell and Carnetta Faulk.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband; Robert Lee McNeil. Two daughters, Dee Dee Luckey and Chrystal Purcell. One son, Pacman Purcell. Seventeen grandchildren, Sera Scriven (Chris), Taryn Purcell, Shakiya Purcell, Destiny Wallace, Octavius Kelly, Devin Wallace, DeAndre Hammond who held the key to her heart, Ashiya Kelly, Peyton Butler, Prodigy Butler, Deleeya Mason, Ja’Keem Jackson, and I’yannah Purcell. Two great grandboys Zayden and Xavier Scriven. One Aunt, Annie Purcell. One Sister, Arnetta Blue. Five Brothers, Neil, Mike, Johnny, James, and Troy. One Special sister/cousin Joyce Murchison. One Best Friend for over 50 years Sharon McLean. Four step-children Tasha, Tonya, Kilsa, and Rodriguez. Six-Step Grandchildren Jadia, Gianna, Janaria, Norrian, Lyric, and Harmony. Nine Special In-Laws Carrie Smith, Peggy Ann Bryant, Francis Davis, Patricia Ray, Ollie Robertson, Hattie Riggins, Oease McNeill, Daniel McNeill, and Johnny Sowell. Patricia will also be remembered and loved by so many more family and friends.
