Richard Ivan Green, age 76, of Vass, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Pinehurst Health and Rehab in Pinehurst, surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 10 until 11.
Richard was born in Michigan on January 6, 1942 to Ivan and Viola Green. He was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church. Richard proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. His achievements in life were numerous but he will be remembered as a man of God who loved everyone and everyone loved him as well. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Talbot Green; son, Larry Green of Florida; step-daughters, Amy Burrell of Sanford, Joyce Smith of Siler City, Donna Silva of Sanford and Bonnie Williams of Lake Waccamaw; sisters, Candice and Vickie; brother, Mike Green; grandchildren, Jeremy Green and Bethany Glover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Viola Green; sister, Pat; brothers, Terry and Denny Green.
