Stella Hussey Garner, 95, went home to be with the Lord, February 8, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House, surrounded by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend D J Harry, Reverend Arnold Comer and Reverend Gerald Hussey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Stella was a native of Randolph County. She worked at Robbins Mill and Ramseur Interlock until her retirement. She also worked with her husband raising poultry and cattle, on the family farm. She loved growing a big garden, tending to her flowers and cooking wonderful meals for family and the neighborhood. She loved taking trips with the Senior Saints and family trips to both the beach and mountains. Stella was a daughter of the late William Wesley and Carrie Maness Hussey and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard “ Doc” Garner, daughters: Helen White, Lois Brewer; and all twelve of her brothers and sisters.
Stella is survived by daughter: Louise Perhealth and husband Russell, of Aberdeen; son: Roger Garner and wife Renita, of Seagrove; grandchildren: Tim, Tammy, Linda, Janice, Randall, Ryan and Reid; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of her caregivers throughout the years.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, February 10, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
