Suellen Mandeville Nesbit, age 75 of Southern Pines, NC died on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 of cancer.

She was born in Princeton, WV to Charles (Chill) Mandeville and Dena (Cahill) Mandeville. After graduating from Princeton High School, she attended and graduated from Alexandria School of Nursing in Virginia.

She was smart, prissy, friendly, beautiful, kind, faithful, funny, religious and a great cook. She liked shopping, especially at TJMAXX, her neighbors, church friends, fellow workers in Nashville and the people she grew up with in Princeton.

She will be missed by Brownson’s Martha’s Friends, with her long arms and legs she was the only one able to reach the top shelves in the kitchen.

She was a wonderful Navy wife who bloomed in every distant location: St. Simons Island, GA; Long Beach, CA; Pensacola, FL; Mt. View, CA; Annapolis, MD; Newport, RI; Brunswick ME and Nashville, TN.

She always wanted to be a mother and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Tom Nesbit; her sons, Brad and wife Rena of Cary, NC; Eric and wife Chris of Raleigh; and Jamie and wife Mary Hannah of Pinehurst and SUE SUE to neighbors and grandchildren: Zachary, Maddie, Maya, Lauren, Hannah Claire and John Tyler. She is also survived by her brothers: Tony and wife Susie of FL and Kennedy and wife Karen of Princeton, WV.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 AM at Brownson Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines with a reception to follow catered by Martha’s Friends.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the Brownson Presbyterian Women’s Scholarship Fund.

She will be interred at a later date at the U.S. Naval Academy Columbarium.
