Thomas Claude “TC” Gibson, age 81, of West End, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of West End with Dr. John Box officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 3 pm until 4 pm.
TC was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on June 27, 1940 to the late Thomas Alfred and Bertha Ellen Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Brian Gibson, sisters, Lucille Saunders, Edna Dunn, Mary Sineath, Hazel Saunders and Betty Gibson and brother, Lowell Gibson.
In his early years, he was known for coaching baseball and later in life for his love of watching Duke basketball. He will be remembered as a simple man who loved his family and friends, and who would do anything for those around him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Blanche Gibson; son, Robbie Gibson and wife, Annette of Sanford; grandchildren Joshua Gibson and wife Lindsay of Leland, NC, Caleb Gibson and wife Kylie of Whitakers, NC, Riley Gibson of Eastwood, NC and Ashley Gibson of Robbins, NC; sister, Brenda Ritter of Jackson Springs, NC; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Logan, Lena, Leah and Isaiah.
