Vester Ray Wilson, 79, of West End, passed on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes. A funeral service will be held 1 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Middle Cross Baptist Church in West End with the Rev. David Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson was born April 5, 1940 in Moore County to the late Vester Garland Wilson and Helen Louise (Freeman) Wilson. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army retiring in 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60years Karen Diane (Kamhout) Wilson in December of 2018.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Wilson and wife Pu of Linden, NC; A daughter, Raeann Dettloff and husband Myron of Florida; Two brothers, Mike Wilson and wife Sharon of South Carolina, and Reggie Wilson and wife Ruby of West End. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Middle Cross Baptist Church.
