William B. Rank MD, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in Southern Pines, NC. Born December 23,1931 in Cincinnati, OH to William C. and Ruth P. Rank.
Bill attended the University of Cincinnati, where he received a medical degree in Urology. He was a Reserve Commissioned Officer of the Army from 1956 – 1965 whereupon he was honorably discharged (Captain). He married Judith K. Rank on December 7, 1957. He and Judith moved to Fort Wayne, IN, began his practice and raised their family. He retired in 1993 to Pinehurst, NC. Bill loved classical music, language study, travel, calligraphy and family.
Bill is survived by his wife Judith, and 3 sons, Gregory (Debbie), Stephen, and Kurtis (Enid) along with 3 Grandchildren (Joshua, Kristopher & Brandon) and 2 nephews and a niece (David, Mark and De Heggem). Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Frances Roll.
Due to the Coronavirus, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s association.
