Mrs. Julia Horner Boone, 90, of Robbins, N.C. died peacefully at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. The family will hold a Memorial Service celebrating her life on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the New Testament Baptist Church in Robbins at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Darren Richardson will officiate the service. No visitation will be held.

Julia was born in Robbins, N.C. May 22, 1927 to the late John Bunyon Horner and Melinda R. Horner. Julia worked for many years at Robbins Mill and raised chickens. She loved the Lord and her church and she faithfully read her Bible daily. She enjoyed gardening and loved mowing her yard and tending to her flowers and vegetable garden. Julia was known for her homemade pound cakes and biscuits. She enjoyed sharing them with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lennie Horner, husband Paul Boone, brothers Cecil Horner, J.B. Horner, sisters Lillian Garner, Lucille Siens, Catharine Singletary, Margaret Dowless, Doris Davis. She is survived by daughters Margaret Boone of Greensboro, Susan Shade and husband Bill of Robbins, brother Tom Horner, and a host of friends and extended family. Special thanks to Autumn Care staff for all the compassionate care given to Julia.
