Mac Lee Stark, age 89, of Foxfire Village died Sunday (January 21, 2018) at his home.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, at West End United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jane Leechford. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the fellowship hall beginning at 10:00 AM.

A native of Kentucky, he was a son of the late Cleao and Rebecca Alyne Stark. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War where he worked in aviation as an avionics electronicsman. He worked for NASA in Cape Canaveral and was part of the team that launched John Glenn into orbit in 1962. After that he worked various other jobs as an electrician, his last job being with Pepsi Co.

In 2007, he moved to Foxfire Village to be closer to his daughter. He was a wonderful dad and granddad.

He is survived by his wife Lillian Browning Stark; his children Donald Stark and wife Melissa of Clarksville, TN, Ellen Hall and husband Troy of Mt. Gilead, NC, Karen Saggus and husband Mark of Orlando, FL, Jesse Bush of Tampa, FL, Jay Bush and wife Margie of Bonnyman, KY, Michael Stark of Orlando, FL; sister Sarah Canter of Cuba, KY; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
