A longtime resident of CCNC, Pinehurst, NC, Vero Beach, FL and the Twin Cities, MN, Mary Ann is lovingly remembered by all who knew her for her indomitable happy spirt, generosity and kindness.  She was a tireless volunteer and philanthropist.  From Saturday’s at Given Book Shop, to Linden Lodge, Weymouth Center for the Arts, Foundation of FirstHealth, to Penick Village and the Carolina Philharmonic.

In Minnesota, she brought her professional volunteerism to the St. Paul Children’s Hospital, MIA Decorative Arts, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and served as a North Oaks City Council member as well as enjoyed being an entrepreneur with her Heddy Pegler antiques business.  Mary Ann grew up in Peoria, IL and often shared glorious memories about her life and fabulous friends.

Mary Ann loved to entertain her friends and fully enjoyed bridge, Mahjong, taking friends to dinner and fundraising events.   She was as committed to her friends as they to her.  Included in this circle of joy are Shelby, Ashley, Addie, and the CCNC club and security staff.   The family would like to extend a special thank you to this treasured list of people that became part of Mary Ann’s life.  We will be forever grateful.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, April 7, 2018 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines, NC with Reverend Mary Balfour Dunlap officiating.
