Roy Donald Mellenthien, 89, of Aberdeen, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 20, 2017, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
A memorial service is being held at the Christ Community Church, 220 Campground Rd, West End, NC 27376 on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gary Fish and Pastor Daniel Wood officiating.
Roy was born in Oakfield, NY March 1, 1928 to the late Henry Christopher and Ethel Marie Cafarelli Mellenthien.
Roy served his country in the US Army. Roy was the owner of the M & M Trucking Company in Lancaster, N.Y. Upon his retirement, he relocated to Aberdeen, NC in 1978.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel along with a sister, Betty Ann Mellenthien Schmidt.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Judith Nelson Fee Mellenthien; daughter Lori Mellenthien Hartig; sister Sylvia Jean Mellenthien Fish Finch; special nephew Gary Lee Fish; special niece Joanne Schmidt Eberth; as well as many other special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorials be made in Roy’s name to Christ Community Church, 220 Campground Road, West End, NC 27376.
