One airlifted after accident near Aberdeen

One person was airlifted in serious condition after a two-vehicle accident near Aberdeen Monday evening. The accident occurred on Roseland Road just past the intersection with Rose Ridge Road. 

A  Dodge Charger collided with a Dodge Ram truck just before 6 p.m. The charger had extensive damage to the front end and remained in the roadway. The impact sent the truck off the side of the road. The occupants of the truck were uninjured in the collision.

The driver of the charger suffered serious injuries, and a life flight helicopter was called. The male victim was taken by EMS to a field at the intersection of Roseland Road and Hoffman Road where the fire department had set up a landing zone.

The victim was airlifted to UNC Hospitals, and his condition is unknown at this time.

The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.

Roseland Road was shut down while emergency crews worked, and the wreckage could be cleared.

Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the N.C. Highway Patrol.
