O'Neal announces Adams head lower school

The O’Neal School announced Kelley Adams as head of lower school beginning July 1. Presently serving as physical education instructor, coach, and assistant athletic director, Mrs. Adams has been a faculty member at O’Neal since 2016. In the coming months, she will work closely with this year’s Head of Lower School Angie Manning to ensure continuity during the transition and to maintain forward progress in the School’s academic programs.  Ms. Manning recently announced her marriage engagement and that she will be moving out of state at the end of the school year.

Mrs. Adams has taught every grade level from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade, except third, during her career at schools in Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Maryland, Kansas, and North Carolina.  She also spent five years as director of a preschool and has experience in admissions.  Her variety of experiences and skills will be invaluable in a division that serves students with a range of ages and grade levels.

“We are pleased to have Kelley serve in this role for the 2021-22 academic year as we look to build on what has already been accomplished in the Lower School,” says Head of School John Elmore. “She knows the students and teachers, understands our school culture, and is familiar with what is already working so well in the division.”
