Outlook bright for Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10

Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 has opened its doors to Moore County movie enthusiasts for a promising summer of films, fun, and good food. Together, new owner and operator Jeremy Welman and the theater’s ownership group are looking forward to providing a clean, safe, and friendly environment for all.

Jeremy has been hard at work reopening the multiplex movie theater since the old theater company left the facility and has been putting his nearly forty years of business experience to good use. He has been on-site at the theater, located in Southern Pines on Brucewood Road, every day since its reopening, personally overseeing the changes and getting a feel for how to better serve the community. He is confident that a local, passionate owner will make a world of difference for the theater.

“It’s all I hoped it would be when the opportunity presented itself,” he explained. “We’re long-term players, and I plan to be here a long time. That will be the biggest difference, that as an owner, I will be on-site and in the area. The team and the theater have already felt it, hopefully in a positive way.”

The story of Jeremy and the theater that would become Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 was love at first sight. When he heard that the theater building was open again for a new operator, Jeremy flew to Southern Pines the next day to view the property. He immediately saw the theater’s potential and knew at once that this was the right fit for him and his family, and within a matter of days, they made the decision to call Moore County home.

Outlook bright Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10

Patrons enjoy the lobby on June 5. The new management team behind Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 has a combined 100+ years of experience in the cinema industry and is looking to make meaningful changes to the theater in the months ahead to enhance the customer experience.

Moving forward, Jeremy and his team are making enhancements to the theater. Current amenities are being improved while future amenities are being planned and implemented. Updates to the staff, décor, menu, and showing rooms are in the works, with a “giant-screen experience” arriving sometime in the near future. Improvements to the sound quality, picture quality, and a new air conditioning system aim to make moviegoers both more comfortable and more immersed while in the theater.

The theater’s concessions currently consist of movie-theater classics, such as popcorn, nachos, candy, slushies, and assorted beverages, but Jeremy hopes to expand the menu to include pizza, beer, wine, ciders, and other treats. Additional seating and planned open patio space will allow patrons to have a seat and enjoy their meal before their movie begins.

However, Jeremy’s hopes of changing Moore County’s moviegoer experiences don’t stop with the physical changes to the theater. In addition to improving the theater, Jeremy hopes to introduce a broader selection of films. Ideally, this lineup will include independent films, classic films, genre-focused films, and other niche showings to expand the theater’s programming.

For summer break, the theater will host a kids camp on Wednesday mornings with $2 tickets. Every Tuesday, tickets are only $7, and military and senior citizens receive discounts every day.

Above all else, Jeremy and his team are extremely grateful for the outpour of community support they have received since reopening the theater. “I’m so appreciative that they’re not only attending but also that they’re really enjoying it,” he said. “The community has been amazing, and I genuinely want to serve them to the fullest of my ability.”
