Pair arrested on heroin charges in Carthage

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests of two individuals following a traffic stop in the Carthage area.

On May 27, deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 5800 block of U.S. Highway 15/501. During the traffic stop, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, deputies located heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia.

Aaron Deese, 37, of Carthage, was charged with possession of heroin, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carol Deese, 38, of Carthage, was charged with possession of heroin, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were placed under $2,500 secured bonds, are due in court on June 9 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
