West End’s own Paradox Farm took home honors at the North Carolina State Fair cheese competition.

Paradox Farm won in three categories.  Their cheese won first place in the Feta catagory for their Feta Complete, second place in Goat’s Mile Fresh Chevre Unflavored Cheese for their Cheese Louise, and second place in Goat’s Milk Aged Cheese for their Guy Noir.

A team of four judges rated the cheeses on technical and aesthetic merits using the American Cheese Society’s point system: first place, 93-100 points; second place, 86-92; and third place, 80-85.

“We are very pleased with our wins,” said Paradox Farm owner, Sue Stovall. “Our Feta Complete always gets raves, and it can be found in many local restaurants. Our Guy Noir is new this year. It is a goat milk cheddar with a waxed rind. It has a creamy, buttery flavor. And Cheese Louise continues to take a ribbon when ever we enter it in a competition.”

You can find their products all over Moore County.
