Nik Pry, the ace of pitching staff, turned in a gritty performance giving up 10 hits but was strong when his team needed him, striking out 12 batters. At one point of the game, Scotland County had the bases loaded with no outs and did not score a run thanks to clutch pitching and defense.

In the other semifinal tournament game last night, Jack Britt High School defeated Purnell Sweet 5-1. That sets up a winner-take-all game for the conference title at John Williams Stadium Friday beginning at 7 p.m. Pinecrest split the regular season with Jack Britt with each team winning on the road.
