Pinehurst man facing 10 charges of sexual exploitation of minor

The Pinehurst Police Department, along with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Computer Crimes Unit and Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at a residence in the Pinewild Community of Pinehurst on Wednesday.

During the search of the home, child sexual abuse material and narcotics were located, according to a press release from Pinehurst Police Department.

As a result of the search warrant, detectives with the Pinehurst Police Department arrested 27-year-old Joseph Reiter of Pinehurst.

Reiter was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule III-controlled substance, and two counts of simple possession of a schedule III control substance.

Reiter is currently held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $530,000 secure bond with a pending court date in Moore County. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
