Pinehurst Resort announced it will temporarily close its lodging operations to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“After careful consideration while closely monitoring the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation, Pinehurst has made the difficult decision to close our lodging operations, including the Carolina Hotel,” said the resort on its website.
The closure begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
“The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority,” the resort said.
Pinehurst Brewing Company is offering take out during this time but will only accept credit cards. No cash is accepted.
With safety protocols in place, the golf courses will remain open while social distancing is observed. Instead of using a golf cart, they’re recommending to walk if you are able. One member per cart unless it is immediate family members. They advised playing with the flagstick in and rake bunkers with your feet instead of the rake.
Precautionary actions the courses are taking include disinfecting golf carts and push carts after each use. Scorecard holder, window ledges, and high touch areas of starter shacks are being disinfected regularly. Non-cash transactions are being encouraged.
“We will continue to assess the situation as it develops and look forward to welcoming springtime guests to Pinehurst soon,” said the resort.
