Pinehurst Saint Patrick’s Day Parade called off

Officials from the Village of Pinehurst have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Saint Patrick’s Day parade due to the potential for severe weather. The parade, which was to return to the Village of Pinehurst after a two-year pandemic caused hiatus was scheduled for March 12.

Village staff considered all options including rescheduling or delaying start times but ultimately determined to cancel the parade.

“We know our community was excited about this annual event returning,” said Village Manager Jeff Sanborn. “The risk was simply too great to continue.”

There’s still some gold at the end of the rainbow. On Thursday, March 17, the first 200 children can pick up a goodie bag filled with lucky items at the Cannon Park Community Center (210 Rattlesnake Trail). Goodie bags will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or while supplies last.
