Planet Fitness coming soon to Moore County

Construction has begun on the latest addition to the thriving fitness scene of Moore County. Set to open in early 2023, Planet Fitness will be arriving in Aberdeen, on Highway 15-501, near the intersection with Highway 1, just in time for workout enthusiasts of the Sandhills to hold onto their potential New Year’s resolutions a little bit longer.

Planet Fitness gyms place an emphasis on providing a safe, friendly environment where gym-goers from all walks of life and levels of experience feel welcome to work out without fear of judgement, resulting in their signature Judgement Free Zone.

“Excel Fitness has built a team culture that focuses on elevating the member experience by developing exceptional health clubs and delivering world-class customer service,” explained Excel Fitness Senior Marketing Manager Amanda Pleiter. “The team is passionate about building communities through fitness and supporting their local markets through employment and membership opportunities that positively impact lives.”

The new Planet Fitness location aims to bring a plethora of fitness amenities to the Sandhills, going beyond the standard gym experience and expanding into spa and resort style amenities as well.

As it stands, there will be “tons” of state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, an expansive free weights section, and a cross training area with kettle bells, TRX suspension bands, and battle ropes. Gym-goers are welcome to participate in a 30-minute guided workout that takes the guesswork out of forming a routine as they navigate the available equipment.

There will be a Black Card® Spa area featuring a private lounge and access to upgraded amenities, including premium tanning beds featuring hybrid light technology, HydroMassage Loungers and massage chairs, Wellness Pods for mindful relaxation and rest, and more. Private locker rooms with resort style amenities will also be available, featuring granite countertops, tile, day lockers, individual changing areas, and showers.

In addition, members can also sign up and attend free group training through PE@PF, which is included with every membership. The program features classes for first-time gym users to design their own workout routine; a great way to navigate the club and focus on individual fitness goals.

“All our clubs have a certified fitness trainer to help our members reach their fitness goals, from orientation classes to specific body part classes, or full body dynamic workouts,” said Pleiter. “All joins will instantly get exclusive access to the free Planet Fitness App, unlocking pre-opening features including fun family workouts you can do at home to get gym ready, plus other PF trainer and celebrity led workouts.”

Once presale begins, guests will be able to join early for only $1 down and pay nothing until the new location opens. This offer includes the Classic Card which offers unlimited usage of the new facility, and the most popular, the PF Black Card®, which offers immediate access to work out at any nearby Planet Fitness. The PF Black Card® also gives subscribers the ability to bring a guest every day to any of the 2,100-plus Planet Fitness locations.

Construction is currently underway for the brand-new building, which will be located at 11240 U.S. 15-501 Hwy in Aberdeen. The club will be open 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, reopen Monday at 5 a.m., and then open 24/7 until closing at 10 p.m. on Friday. The club will always be staffed during open hours for the safety and well-being of all guests.

When membership sales go live, guests will be able to join online at https://www.planetfitness.com/gyms/aberdeen-nc. Until then, guests can sign up via the Planet Fitness website for updates and to receive an alert when membership sales go live.
