Just knock off the first seed yesterday, then win both of your matches today to move on to the Quarterfinals.

Easy, that is if you are Austin Squires, age 22, from Union Kentucky.

Squires, a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati, has experience playing in USGA events having played in three consecutive U.S. Amateurs. Last year, he also reached the final group of 8 at the U.S. Amateur held at Pebble Beach.

The U.S. Amateur will continue with 4 matches Friday starting at 2:30 p.m. at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club.

TV coverage will start at 4 p.m. on FS1.

The Quarterfinalists are: Austin Squires, 22, of Union, Ky., Cohen Trolio, 17, of West Point, Miss., Andy Ogletree, 21, of Little Rock, Miss., Spencer Ralston, 22, of Gainesville, Ga., John Augenstein, 21, of Owensboro, Ky., Palmer Jackson, 18, of Murrysville, Pa., William Holcomb V, 21, of Crockett, Texas, and Karl Vilips, 18, of Australia.
