Detectives tried to get Brown to surrender. After unsuccessful attempts, they called in members of their special response team.

The team tried to talk him out of the attic, but once Brown broke contact with the police, they deployed chemical munitions in the attic. Then the team went into the attic and took him into custody. Neither Brown, nor the officers were injured.
