The North Carolina Jr. Beta Club State Convention was a great opportunity for students from all over the state to compete in various academic, STEM-based, and performing arts competitions.

“Moore County Schools are so proud of the students who participated in this event and wish the best to all students who will be representing their school and Moore County Schools at the National Convention this summer,” said the school district in a press release.

Westmoore Elementary School was the top-performing club from Moore County Schools at the state-level competition. Westmoore Jr. Betas, a club that has been on the rise at the state level in recent years, won 25 awards at the convention. Of the nearly 4,000 attendees and over 80 North Carolina schools represented, only two other schools in the state took home more awards than Westmoore Elementary School.

With more than 500,000 active members and 9,000 clubs nationally and internationally, the National Beta Club has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. The National Beta Club promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
