Moore County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting its second eight-week youth academy at the Southern Pines Boys and Girls Club.

The focus of the Academy is to teach the importance of leadership, teamwork, and to help motivate Moore County youth for outstanding citizenship through Law Enforcement education.  After the academy, the boys and girls will understand the many responsiblities of Sheriff Deputies, the various departments which comprises the office, how to process crime scences, and serves as a great opportunity to form long-lasting friendships.

Working with Detective Whitaker and Evidence Technician Hawkins, the twenty four children learned about crime scenes and finger print processing yesterday.

The collaboration with the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Deon Albrooks, Mrs. Carolina Eddy, Mrs. Wanda Rhyne, and all the volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club is a wonderful way to cement strong relationships with all the children and community.
