Moore County Sheriff’s Office released their monthly report for February.
It took deputies an average call time of nine minutes and 11 seconds while responding to almost 3,000 service calls, according to the Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies made 77 arrests in February and made 912 business checks. Deputies issued 120 traffic citations which included eight citations for driving with a revoked license, two for DWI, and 46 for speeding in excess of 15 miles per hour of the speed limit.
The Sheriff’s Response Team (SRT) conducted 98 sex offender checks and executed three search warrants. SRT helped the apprehension of a suspect wanted for cyber-stalking and communicating threats towards FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
There were 91 dogs and 41 cats admitted to Animal Services with 18 animals returned home. The shelter facilitated 57 dog and 23 cat adoptions.
The Criminal Investigators arrested 35 suspects and recovered over $26,000 in stolen property according to the Sheriff’s report. Some of those arrests included harboring a fugitive, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree burglary, breaking and entering, fraud, and weapon charges.
The narcotics division arrested 35 suspects. The news release said the arrests included doctor shopping/prescription fraud. Deputies seized 446 grams of marijuana, 170 prescription pills, 46 grams of cocaine, 538 grams of methamphetamine, 17 bindles of heroin, three firearms, and over $3,000 in cash. The February total street value of seized drugs was over $78,000.
There were two new sex offenders registered by the department and is monitoring 126 Moore County registered sex offenders, according to the report.
