There was a single car accident on Brucewood Road in front of Sandhills Cinema 10 in Southern Pines Wednesday afternoon. The Audi Q7 was heading south on Brucewood when the driver veered off the road and struck a tree in the median. The impact caused extensive damage to the Audi with airbag deployment. The young male driver was examined at the scene and appeared uninjured in the crash. Both lanes of traffic heading south were blocked and had to be rerouted through the Sandhills Cinema parking lot. Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
