Motorists will see a speed limit change in Southern Pines starting Dec. 1. The speed limit in Knollwood Heights community will be lowered from 35 mph to 25 mph, according to Southern Pines Police Department.
The new speed limit will be for Daffodil Road, Serpentine Drive, Laurel Road, Swoope Drive, Indian Trail, Newton Drive, Azalea Road, Crest Road, Becky Branch Road and Fairway Drive.
“Police officers from the Southern Pines Police Department will be actively monitoring vehicle speeds in the community to ensure compliance with the new speed limit change,” said the department on their social media page.
A message sign and speed sign will be placed in the neighborhood.
