Student-Athlete Spotlight: Keely Holder

Keeley Holder is an eighth grade student-athlete at Crain’s Creek Middle School (CCMS) playing shortstop for the softball team and small forward for the basketball team. She is a three year, two-sport-athlete working to achieve her goals and dreams.

“I like softball a little more,” said Keeley. “I have played both since kindergarten. I just feel a better connection with softball.”

Keeley will be attending Union Pines High School next year and has plans to try out for both sports there. After high school, Keeley plans to study nursing and wants to play softball in college. She plans to attend college in Tennessee.

She is a A/B Honor Roll student that enjoys ELA and math.

Principal Jones had this to say about Keeley: “She is a bright light in the hallways of CCMS with her positive attitude and work ethic! Her dedication on the field/court and in the classroom is exceptional. She is a wonderful student and an excellent athlete!”

Keeley likes to spend time with the people she loves.

“On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family,” said Keeley. “I like going to the park and playing softball with my friends, playing video games and just hanging out.”

Keeley’s PE teacher commends her dedication.

“Her dedication on the court and in the classroom is exceptional,” said PE teacher Mrs. Marks. “She is a wonderful student, and a positive role model who encourages her classmates to be the best students and athletes they can be on a daily basis. Overall, through Keeley’s time at CCMS, she has proven very worthy of this nomination and is overall an awesome young girl!”
