Suspect arrested in 2 Lumberton shooting deaths

Police have identified a suspect in the deadly Family Dollar double shooting that took place in Lumberton.

Warrants were issued Monday for Xavier Joseph Kenneth Green, 25, of Florence, S.C., said Lumberton Police Department. He is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder. Green is 6’01”,  weighs 185 pounds, and has brown eyes. 

Green is accused of killing two women Friday in the parking lot of Family Dollar Store located on East 5th Street.

Police say he “fired into multiple vehicles that were backing out of parking spaces.”

The victims are Kayla Kyle, 32, of Meadow Road, Lumberton, and Kimberly Hunt, 41, of an unknown address.

“Anyone who knows of Mr. Green’s location or sees Mr. Green is asked to call 911 immediately,” said Lumberton Police Department. “Mr. Green should be considered armed and dangerous and should only be approached by law enforcement.”

An “anonymous group of individuals” is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the double murder suspect.
