The Blessing of the Hounds is a Thanksgiving tradition in Southern Pines that has endured for more than a 100 years. This is the first event of the season for the Moore County Hounds.  And do not worry,  it is a mock fox hunt.  No harm comes to the fox.

The riders and hounds gather to receive a blessing from a local priest just prior to the hunt. This tradition goes back to medieval times.

This event always gets a very large turnout each and very year.

If you have ever wondered what it’s like to be at the Blessing of the Hounds, look no further. John Vaughn and Story Focused Media have captured the pageantry of the event and will transport you to a front row seat as only Story Focused Media can do.
