Southern Pines considers rail expansion

The Town of Southern Pines had a discharge of untreated wastewater on May 1 of an estimated 50,350 gallons along a sewer easement. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Reservoir Park Lake/Mill Creek, announced the town in a news release.

The Town Utilities Division was notified of the event on May 1 at approximately 6:45 p.m. All efforts to mitigate wastewater release were taken. Repairs were completed, and the system returned to service on May 2 at approximately 1:45 p.m., and cleanup/sanitizing efforts were conducted.
