Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Cameron

A traffic stop in Cameron resulted in a Carthage man being arrested on drug charges.

According to a statement from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, Walter Quick, 29, is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

“On May 16, 2023, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 3800 block of N. C. Highway 24/27 in Cameron,” said Fields in a news release. “During the traffic stop, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, Deputies located methamphetamine, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia, and items of marijuana paraphernalia.”

Quick’s bond was set at $10,000. He is due in court on June 15 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
