traffic stop results in arrests drug charges

A traffic stop in the Pinehurst area on Wednesday resulted in three suspects being arrested on several drug charges.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests Thursday.

“As a result of the traffic stop, deputies seized: 2.7 grams of Heroin, 6.2 Grams of Marijuana, 11 Dosage units of Alprazolam, 5 Dosage units of Buprenorphine and Naloxone, Items of Drug Paraphernalia, and $265.00 in U.S. Currency,” said Fields in a statement.

Authorities placed the street value of the drugs at $814. 

The three suspects arrested were:

Akira Donyea Moore, 22, Fayetteville:

Charges- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Felony Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling Place for Controlled Substances, Sell Heroin, Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana up to ½ ounce, Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.
Bond: $100,000 secured.

Brooke Taylor Shaw, 26, Southern Pines:

Charges- Possess Heroin, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling Place for Controlled Substances, Simple possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bond: $2,500 unsecured.

Rodney Antwan Quick, 27, Aberdeen:

Charges- Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance.
Bond: $750 unsecured.

Suspects are due in court on September 24 and are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
