A driver lost control of his pickup in a weather-related accident in Aberdeen Friday night.

The driver of a black Toyota Tacoma was turning left onto 15-501 North, in front of the CVS Pharmacy, when he lost control of his vehicle due to the slippery street. The truck slid around and off the right-hand side of the road overturning onto the grassy area behind the former Radio Shack building.

Emergency crews waiting for a tow truck

The driver was uninjured in the accident and was able to climb out the vehicle before emergency crews arrived. One lane of traffic was shut down while authorities waited for a tow truck to remove the vehicle. 

Responding to the accident were Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Aberdeen Police Department is investigating the accident.

The truck spun around before flipping due to wet roads

This is one of many accidents that have occurred this evening as the winter weather moves in. If you do not have to go out, please remain at home. The conditions will only worsen into the evening and early morning hours.
