Two people were airlifted to an area trauma center, and two others were transported by ambulance to Moore Regional Hospital after an ATV accident off of Ridgecrest Road in Pinebluff Saturday morning.

Emergency crews used 4 wheel drive vehicles to reach the victims who were located on a pipeline that runs from Roseland Road back to a water tower.

The ATV, the five people were riding in, rolled over pinning one person underneath. Two helicopters were called for with one landing at a nearby ball field and the second helicopter landed later in a field just off of Sandpit Road.

Pinecrest High School Senior and Patriot Player, Shaqual Chambers, was one of the injured airlifted to have surgery at UNCH.

“Please keep player Shaq Chambers in your thoughts as he is at Chapel Hill in surgery to have his arm amputated after an ATV accident. UNITY,”  Pinecrest Patriot Football said on their social media page.

The other two passengers were brought out to waiting ambulances and transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital. The fifth person refused transport and was taken to waiting emergency crews that had staged in the parking lot of Mac’s Food Store at the corner of Sandpit and Roseland Road.

The names of the other people involved in the accident or their conditions have not been released.
