Two Carthage individuals were arrested following a probation search.

Moore County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Probation and Parole conducted a probation search on November 6th at a home in the 100 block of Merritt Drive in Carthage.  As a result of the search, the law enforcement agencies seized 21 bindles of heroin, eight grams of marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested  Bryant Lamar Barnett, age 55, occupant of the home, and Cecilia Marie Holder, age 24, of the 100 block of Misty Morning Trail in Carthage.

Both Barnett and Holder were charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, the felony maintaining of a dwelling for the storage of a controlled-substance, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and Barnett was also charged with parole violations.

Both individuals were placed in the Moore County Detention Center under $75,000 secured bonds and given a November 14th court date.
