Two injured in rollover collision on Hwy 24/27

A collision outside of Cameron between a Mercedes SUV and a Jeep Compass Thursday afternoon resulted in one person being airlifted and two others being sent by EMS to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the driver of the Jeep was coming off of Dalrymple Road to cross onto Nickens Road when she failed to give right of way to the Mercedes that was traveling on 24/27 from Cameron to Carthage.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the Mercedes was occupied by a single female passenger that was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries. 

Officials confirmed the Jeep that rolled over was occupied by two passengers. The female driver was airlifted to a hospital from a field next to the accident scene.

Responding to the scene were North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Moore County EMS, Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue, UNC Air Care, Oakley’s Towing and A-1 Towing.
