Two sent to hospital after crash, dogs uninjured

Two people were taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital after a crash involving three vehicles near Seven Lakes on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at approximately 11 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 211 and Holly Grove School Road. First responders shut down the southbound lanes to traffic while they worked the scene.

Investigators tell Sandhills Sentinel a vehicle not involved in the crash was turning left onto Holly Grove School Road from 211 causing traffic behind it to slow down. The driver of a Ford F-150 failed to reduce his speed and smashed into the back of a Mazda CX-5. The impact forced the Mazda into the back of a Chevy Colorado.

The drivers of the Ford and Mazda were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Two dogs in the Mazda were uninjured and were transported to the Seven Lakes Fire Department until a family member picked them up.

Responding to the scene were Seven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County Public Safety, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Animal Control, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
