Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a crash on Farm Life School Road in Carthage.
According to authorities on scene, the incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. when two vehicles collided at the stop sign at Farm Life School Road and Niagara Carthage Road. The impact caused the pickup truck to roll onto its side.

Though officials on scene confirmed to Sandhills Sentinel that one vehicle ran the stop sign, the investigation is ongoing, and they were not able to release any further details.Â
Emergency crews initially reported a possible pin-in, but all occupants were eventually able to safely exit their vehicles without the use of machinery. Aircare was placed on standby but was not needed after paramedics evaluated the scene.
Two people were transported by EMS for treatment.
Crews worked quickly to clear the scene due to heavy school traffic in the area.
Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.Â
