Two transported to hospital after Robbins accident

Two people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident outside of Robbins Tuesday night.

The vehicles were traveling east on Highway 24/27 near Sunset Drive. According to authorities on the scene, a Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a Chevrolet Equinox.

Rainy conditions could have impacted the accident, but the exact cause is unclear and is being investigated by North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The impact caused the Equinox to go off the road and into a wire fence. A portion of the fence was damaged. The Jeep had moderate front-end damage, and the Equinox had moderate rear-end damage. 

The driver and passenger of the Equinox were transported to Moore Regional Hospital by Moore County EMS. They suffered minor injuries. The male driver of the Jeep was uninjured. 

Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Robbins Police Department, and Robbins Fire and Rescue were on the scene.
