The University of North Carolina at Pembroke recently hosted international students from the O’Neal School in Southern Pines.

The students participated in a ‘meet and greet’ with UNC Pembroke’s international students at the Chancellor’s Residence.

The O’Neal students heard from the UNCP students who shared some of the academic success and experiences on campus. The guests dined with Chancellor Robin Gary Cummings and his wife, Rebecca, and other university leaders.

The O’Neal students in attendance were Turbo (Fanqi) Meng, Chloe (Jianen) Shen, Mary (Zirui) Guo, Peaches Ding, Shari (Xirui) Du, and German Riveiro. They were accompanied Beverly O’Donnell, New Oasis International Education advisor.

Several UNCP staff members, including Alex Brandt and Qi (Larry) Liu,  both from International Programs, and Dr. Chunmei Yao with the Office of Institutional Research, also attended.

After dinner, the group was treated to a performance of Cirque Dreams Holidaze at Givens Performing Arts Center.
