Union Pines High School teacher and women’s basketball coach, Greg Mayer, has resigned his position.
Mayer was suspended for five days without pay this week, and it was announced Friday he will not be returning to his job for personal reasons.
Mayer was suspended for alleged misconduct after a complaint was made. The school notified parents Monday evening. The school did not release any further details of the allegations or the investigation.
Mayer has been with Moore County Schools since 2007 and has been the coach at Union Pines since 2016.
