A man from Vass was arrested Wednesday and placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
John Coy Phelps, 30, is accused of breaking into a home, according to a Moore County Sheriff’s Office news release.
“On March 31st, 2020 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering into a residence in the Lobelia area of Moore County,” said the news release. “As a result of the investigation, an arrest was made.”
Deputies charged Phelps with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny of a firearm, one count of felony possession of a stolen firearm, one count of possession of firearm by convicted felon, and one count of violation of an emergency order.
The suspect has a May 7 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
