A man from Vass was murdered by his roommate, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
Rex Hayes Watson’s body was discovered by deputies Saturday morning at his home on Rollins Road after they “received a tip from an out of state law enforcement agency that a crime had taken place there.”
Hours later, Dallas Lester Walters Jr, 48, was arrested by officers in Bexar County, Texas after a warrant for murder was obtained by Moore County Detectives.
Authorities did not release the cause of death, or when they believed the murder happened.
Watson was 57 years old.
“Walters will be held without bond pending extradition to Moore County at a later date,” said Fields.
