Pinehurst Village Manager Jeff Sanborn announced Monday that Master Firefighter Michael Waschsen, Master Firefighter Jay Kramer, Senior Police Officer Randy Chappel, and Sgt. Richard Baker successfully completed The Dedman Leadership Institute at Sandhills Community College.

On April 25, upon completion of the 48-hour program, these individuals were awarded the Dedman Fellow in Leadership from the Sandhills Community College Division of Continuing Education.

The Dedman Center for Business Leadership offers this annual program preparing individuals in the community to become effective leaders in their respective businesses or organizations. The institute explores a variety of leadership topics using powerful and popular leadership texts and materials.

Taking place over a three-month period, students are given a well-rounded look at the elements of leadership in corporate and institutional settings.

Participation in the program is made possible through scholarships underwritten by the Robert Dedman Permanent Endowment to Benefit Sandhills Community College, an endowment created by the late Robert Dedman to support programs at Sandhills.

“We are proud of our employees and their dedication to continuous learning and involvement in the community,” says Jeff Sanborn, Village Manager. “The leadership skills learned in this program will enrich our team at the Village of Pinehurst.”
