Pinehurst Saint Patrick’s Day Parade called off

Out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of guests, parade participants, and employees, the parade organizers and the Village of Pinehurst have made the decision to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for Saturday, March 14.

“Cancelling the St. Patrick’s Day parade was not an easy decision, but it is the correct and responsible thing to do. Our primary concern is for the health, safety, and welfare of our residents and employees. We will continue to take measured actions accordingly as we monitor the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Village Manager Jeff Sanborn. “While the risk in Pinehurst remains low, the situation is changing quickly. We encourage all residents to follow preventive measures to avoid illness, such as washing hands and staying home if you feel unwell.”

“We understand the best way to prevent new cases of COVID-19 is to limit exposure and encourage social distancing. We are taking this proactive step to keep our village and surrounding areas healthy,” said Mark Wagner, Parks & Recreation Director.

Village of Pinehurst residents are encouraged to stay informed about COVID-19 prevention measures, symptoms, and treatment by reading through the Center for Disease Control’s website and Facebook page.
