Warrants issued for Aberdeen man after deadly shooting

Arrest warrants were issued for an Aberdeen man after a deadly shooting.

Richmond County Sheriff Mark Gulledge reports that on Friday, March 3, at approximately 3:03 p.m., the sheriff’s office was dispatched to the area of Sallie Goins Hill Rd. in Ellerbe in reference to someone hearing a male yelling.

The first deputy arrived and located a male lying on a front porch yelling for help. When the deputy approached, the male informed the deputy he had been shot. The deputy notified the 911 center to dispatch EMS. Other deputies arrived and first aid was administered to the victim until EMS arrived.

While waiting on EMS, deputies were able to speak with the victim and identified him as Nikolas Jurel Cromer, 21, of Rockingham.

Cromer was transported by EMS and later flown to a trauma center. Unfortunately, Cromer later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators have identified and issued warrants for Patrice Hoza Taylor, Jr., aka “Meecy,” 31, of Aberdeen. Taylor is described as a Black male, 5’6″, 165 pounds, with tattoos covering both arms and on his neck area.

Taylor is to be considered armed and dangerous and has been known to frequent Richmond and Cumberland counties.
