A Sanford woman was arrested in Moore County for trafficking in Methamphetamine, according to a news release from Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

A joint operation investigation involving Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation led law enforcement to stop a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro on N.C. Highway 705 near Robbins on October 12th.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies seized approximately two pounds of crystal methamphetamine, according to Sheriff Godfrey.

After the search of the vehicle, the investigation led the Law Enforcement Agencies to execute a search warrant at a residence on Hart Drive in Sanford.  Deputies seized an additional 69 grams of cocaine and 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine. 

Nancy Buitron, age 31, was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining of a vehicle for the storage of a controlled substance. 

The total street value of all seized drugs is approximately $26,000.

Buitron was jailed on a $150,000 secured bond and has an October 24th court date, according to arrest records.
