An accident caused a woman to be pinned in her car Sunday morning in Pinehurst.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Page Rd and Memorial Drive.  The Ford F250 Quad Cab truck was headed south on Page Road when the driver of the white Ford Fusion came through the intersection and into the path of the truck.  The truck struck the car on the driver’s side and the impact sent the car off the side of the road almost hitting a utility pole. The driver of the Fusion was trapped in her car and had to be cut free by emergency crews. Pinehurst Fire and Rescue used hydraulic tools to cut the driver’s door off the Ford allowing them to extricate the driver.

The woman was evaluated by EMS and transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the truck was uninjured. Pinehurst Police are investigating the accident

Responding to the scene were Pinehurst Police Department, Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, and Moore County EMS.
